about

This track is about all the telemarketing calls I get.

I made this using an MPC Live and a Casio SK-1. The vocs were sampled into the sk1 and so was part of the main beat.

The Casio SK 1 is an 8 bit sampler that came out in the 80s. It's super cool and is one of the 3 samplers I currently own. A collection that I had to winnow down from 8 to just 3.

I have the Live, a Gemini DS-824 12 bit sampler and a Casio SK-1 8 bit sampler. Each has their place in my production and I love them all.

The creation process was circuitous for this track. I started with some main hooks from a Tamil singer and just couldn't get them to work. Then I realized how much I liked the beat and started to focus more on it and base the track around it instead of a sampled hook.

It's very much influenced by Oizo. I have a few songs of his that I love to dj and wanted to add more to that genre to be able to mix with his stuff.

I make tracks and sometimes songs.

MPC Live
Laptop with Windows 7 and Acid 7.0
Gemini DS 824 12 bit sampler
Behringer RV600 Reverb pedal
Alesis Philtre
Alesis nano compressor
Behringer TD3
Aphex Aural Exciter

The MPC Live is everything I could want and more. And the other outboard pieces fill in the gaps.

My dreams to be able to express myself musically and sonically have come true.
